diagnosed in Adults"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>More and more adults are now being diagnosed with ADHD.\u00a0 Part of the reason is that ADHD is now recognized more and more by physicians and the public awareness of the disorder.\u00a0 I often see children in my practice with ADHD and notice that the parents have very similar symptoms of impulsivity and distractibility.\u00a0 Sometimes the parents even admit that they were similar to their child when they were younger.\u00a0 About half of the children with ADHD outgrow many of their symptoms when they reach adulthood.\u00a0 Many move into careers and jobs that fit their high energy and high activity personalities.\u00a0 One of the things adults and children can do to cope with jobs and schoolwork is to break the projects into smaller manageable pieces.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0There are excellent books and programs available to help patients focus and stay on task such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trytotalfocus.com\/?utm_medium=webaffl&amp;utm_source=cdi&amp;dsource=cdi\">Total Focus <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Driven-Distraction-Recognizing-Attention-Childhood\/dp\/0684801280\/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1270922076&amp;sr=1-5\">Driven to Distraction<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a
